Dr. Camilla StoltenbergDirector-General, Norwegian Institute of Public Health and Professor II, University of Bergen
Head of the Commission
Camilla Stoltenberg (dr.med.) is Director-General of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, a position she has held since 2012. She is Professor II at the University of Bergen, Norway, and Honorary Professor at the University of Bristol, UK. Stoltenberg earned her research doctorate in Epidemiology at the University of Oslo, Norway, and has been a visiting scholar at Columbia University, USA. Her research focuses on causes and risk factors for autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Stoltenberg holds various positions, including as co-chair of Biobank Norway and member of the Global Burden of Disease Independent Advisory Committee, the Norwegian Directorate of eHealth, and the EAT Advisory Board.

Dr. Terje OgdenDirector of research, Norwegian Center for Child Behavioral Development and Professor II, Department of Psychology, University of Oslo
Terje Ogden (dr.philos) is a pedagogue with a PhD in psychology concerning family treatment of serious behavioural problems in children and adolescents. His main research area entails developing, implementing and evaluating efforts in families, kindergardens and schools to prevent behavioural problems in children and to promote their social capabilities. Ogden also does extensive outreach activity, both within Norway and internationally, and is the leader of the program board of Research and Innovation in Educational Sector.

Dr. Arne LervågProfessor, Department of Education, University of Oslo
Arne Lervåg is a professor in educational psychology at the University of Oslo and is researching the development of language- and reading skills in children. He has been the leader of and contributed to multiple longitudinal studies, randomized controlled studies and meta-analyses.

Dr. Katrine Vellesen LøkenProfessor in social economics, Norwegian School of Economics
Katrine V. Løken obtained her PhD from the University of Bergen and has specialized in investigating causalities in family politic arrangements in children and parents’ education and occupation. Her last EU project (ERC starting grant) will study the effect of prison and criminality on criminals, their network and their victims. Løken’s work is published in leading economic journals. She is also a permanent writer for the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.

Dr. Ingrid FyllingAssociate Professor, Faculty of Social Science, North University
Ingrid Fylling (dr.polit) has the past 20 years been involved with research looking at the situation for people with disabilities in regards to school, education and occupation. She has particularly been interested in investigating the mechanisms influencing recruitment of girls and boys to special needs education and other special interventions in school. Ingrid is also involved in multiple research projects regarding living conditions and life quality for various groups in the population.

Dr. Rune HausstätterProfessor, Lillehammer University College
Rune Hausstätter is educated as a teacher from Bergen University College, he has a master’s degree in sport science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has obtained a PhD in special pedagogics from the University of Helsinki. He is currently working as a professor in special pedagogics at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and as a guest lecturer at Stockholm University. Hausstätter has been enganged by the Research Council of Norway, the Swedish Research Council, and the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education to evaluate research projects and educational programs within the field of special pedagogics. He has a particular interest in professional education in school, theories and education of special pedagogics, as well as perspectives on inclusion. He has published a variety of norwegian books and international articles in these areas.

Dr. Camilla Trud NereidMunicipal director for upbringing and education, Trondheim municipality
Camilla Trud Nereid obtained her PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and has a broad background from the university- and college sector. She was until recently dean at the Faculty of Teacher Education at NTNU and Sør-Trøndelag University College, and has acted as department director at the National Centre for Science Recruitment. Nereid is a board member at the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences at NTNU. Since 2017, she has been employed as the municipal director for upbringing and education in the Trondheim municipality.

Ms. Hanan M. AbdelrahmanLærer, Lofsrud Ungdomsskole
Hanan M. Abdelrahman is a teacher at Lofsrud secondary school in Oslo. She was awarded the Holmboe prize for 2017 with parts of the justification being that she has a master of science in elementary school didactics with a specialization in mathematical- and science didactics.

Mr. Mats MonsenHead of Fagforbundet Ung
Mats Monsen is educated as a children and youths worker and has worked in Trondheim municipality from 2012 – 2015 in an accommodation- and activity service for people with special and educational needs. He has previously been politically active as a representative for the city council in Trondheim and as a member of the committee for finance and business. Monsen has been elected as the Assistant Head of Office in Fagforbundet Ung since 2015 and was chosen as Head of Office in the Autumn of 2017.

Mr. Mats KirkebirkelandAdviser, Civita
Mats Kirkebirkeland has a certificate of apprenticeship in aqua culture and has studied finance at the Norwegian Business School. He has had several positions within student- and general politics. Through these positions, Kirkebirkeland has been engaged in education, political problems and school research.

Mr. Rahman Akhtar ChaudryHead of the School Student Union
Rahman Akhtar Chaudry is the Head of the School Student Union, the politically independent organization for Norwegian pupils and apprentices. He has previously been the Assistant Head of the national School Student Union and the county leader for the School Student Union in Oslo.
